STORY: Part 22

In the deepest depths of the flying fortress in a secret department of a laboratory a horrific vision presents itself in a large dark lit room. One of the Grathranmar is hanging in the middle of the room, legs and tail cut off and stored separately. Tubes are drilled into the creature’s body that pump fluids in and out, keeping it artificially alive for hideous experiments. The blue translucent crystal eyes of the giant have been pulled out and stored on an examination table and the damaging breath of the titan has been silenced by injecting it with the poison of the Kontasi.

When Marklar Stari enters the lab the Grathranmar’s voice is heard, a deep voice that makes the room vibrate in resonance as it slowly speaks, telling Marklar all the wrong he has done and that judgment will come.

Marklar laughs and begins the final stages of his experiment by stepping into a solitude chamber which is lifted into a larger device connected to the Grathranmar.

His assistants begin the preparations by placing the eyes of the giant in slots specifically made for them. The final stage begins, the system starts and as electricity flows a large scream is heard from the helpless creature. As it dies and the body becomes diamond dust, the essence of the guardian is processed through the machines before being dispersed into Marklar’s chamber where an unholy transformation takes place. His body gradually turns into black crystal, his hair grows longer and becomes shimmering black as his eyes turn into red gems filled with a black fluid. When the transformation is complete he breaks free with a shock wave and hovers down to the floor. He walks slowly towards the eyes of the Grathranmar, takes them in his hands and crush them. The shards fall to the floor and disperse as he turns to his assistants, and with one move of his hand they fall dead on the metal floor and break into dust particles.
