Let’s take a look at my song history. What’s that? I haven’t made a dark/ominous song since Oklahoma?! This cannot stand! I must fix this at once. This was the result of that thought. Except this time I stretched the idea of what’s considered original by literally using the same exact starting beat as you would hear on early 2010s radio because that was so engrained in me over the years. I thought, “hey let’s take this classic beat, make it into something original ish, then name it after an only somewhat original classic state, at the same time finishing off the New England/Mid Atlantic states”. As you can see this song was made with an end goal in mind preemptively, and I’m not sure if it hurt the artistic integrity of it or not. At the moment I’ve been going on a bit of a remake/remix rampage, doing Washington, two SoundCloud tracks, and this half remake. Tried to foreshadow the second half in the first half a little bit, purely based on melody. Also, I showed this to my family and they liked it a lot more than my other tracks, even more than Wyoming and Florida which surprised me. I also tried to make a callback to the Illinois type endings at the end. Anyways, promise will be more original when it comes to PC. Maybe you’ll start seeing some string instruments soon?
