Electrowave 2

A much different and energetic sounding sequel to my track from over a year ago called Electrowave. Sounds much faster and comes with less repetition than the original. That said, I still kept a good chunk of the original song's melodies and chords for accuracy.

Track Info:

  • 155 BPM
  • Key starts in D Major but has many key changes I kinda lost track of it
  • Most instruments are from Caustic itself, but some of them (like the synth strings) are edited vintage synthesizer samples.

About time I got this done, started drafting this song on my laptop last year.

Also, this one was actually made with a mobile phone DAW, unlike the vast majority of my other tracks. I'm still really proud of it and just how many cool ideas I was able to pull off in this song alone. But, of course I might consider doing a more refined version of this song once I get a good enough PC.

So, yeah, that means I'm not really back, so don't expect anything. I will say though, that I have finished tracks (some of them were even made on my old laptop) for some really cool projects I've been working on and those tracks might be published this year. (probably not here though)

Amazing as hell

Cool little tune you've got here! Definitely sounds like something that should be in a video game. Like Sonic, or some sort of 2D platformer. Well done, I dig it!

Razex responds:

Glad you enjoyed it!

Cool : )

Sounds cool! :-)

I gotta say, your song is packaged very well. Delivers on what you want the song to be and a bit more too. You definitely follow your drum breaks with a well orchestrated accompaniment each time. While I'm not totally into upbeat and chiptune, you garnered my full listen and review.

Your music theory is spot on. I'd say, you could probably even kicked those octaves higher and lower based on your skill. You have such a solid foundation in your musical scores that even a little of change in auditory anticipation would be dramatic and honestly, if executed with care, would shine instantly. I love that you compiled a lot of ideas into one track, but don't let that be something to hinder you later as a requirement. I've heard a lot of chiptune artists before and they go spastic on scores and variations because of their perceived lack of resources i.e. effects, gating, synths. There's a lot of precise tuning that can be done with those dials in Caustic I'm sure.

I gave you 4.5 stars for writing this on your phone. That's a lot of tapping. Keep em coming. I enjoy your style :)

I hope my review was helpful :) Thanks for helping me with my first review!

Razex responds:

Woah, I think this is the first time I'm getting feedback this long! Thanks for your review and kind words, I really appreciate it.
I didn't even know I had a style myself, I try not to think about that too much, but this track encapsulates almost every element I want in my songs - picking a little bit from my favorite stuff and trying to come up with catchy melodies - so that's a compliment for me.
I'm really suprised about what you said regarding my music theory, I've always been insecure about my whole musical knowledge in general. I've never been properly taught (we have no musical classes where I live, so most of it comes from listening or analyzing other tracks for reference and also from some helpful youtube videos) and I don't even know how to play an actual instrument (I never really got the chance to do it).
Also, sorry if my reviews aren't very detailed, writing isn't really my forte (especially in english) I'm really new to this and I have difficulty explaining some stuff.
