I started remaking an old song of mine from 2012 since the main melody is really fun to me. I wanted to add some extra bits such as; Using the "evil" part some more, include some other melodic elements in different parts and just overall try and have it convey a story of sorts. The main melody represents the voyage, the minor parts represent scheming third parties and other changes convey environmental scenes.

I finished the song a while back but I used most of the time to create the video and learning how to use different tools in blender to create more CGI content. I went for an anime Opening/Ending approach but soon realised most openings aren't 7 minutes long haha.

The story:

Tales tell of an ancient relic that holds the power to control the very tides themselves. Whether such a relic exists still remains a mystery. Regardless, Many of the best Pirate lords took to the seas in search of this relic, for whomever can control the sea will rule the world. Many islands and temples were torn up inside and out in hopes to uncover the Relic.

Decades passed and the search dwindled, it was becoming apparent that maybe it was just a tall tale after all. Many pirates lost their lives, many lords lost their crews and hope of finding the relic had faded. A hand full of Pirate lords keep it in the forefront of their minds as such a power is too good to pass up. Among these individuals are Captain Seth A Lapod, Captain Helen Masters and C̶a̶p̶t̶a̶i̶n̶ Doctor Angela Fisher.

Among the many who aren't in search of such immeasurable power is.. "Captain" Capriana Tanner. A lonely pirate and self proclaimed Captain of nobody. She mans a small ship by herself and she sails the Grand Sea in search of.. anything really. With such a small crew of one person, she sticks to small islands and coves just hoping that nobody got there first.

Having to run a whole ship by herself she was prone to accidents, including the time she tried to raise the sail and have her hook be pulled of by the ropes and flung overboard.

One day, stumbling upon a lone island in the middle of the big blue she ventured into the tiny cave that dwelled within the centre. Unsurprised she let out a sigh to see that all chests had been emptied and nothing remained but a few rocks and palm leaves. She turned around to head back to the ship but before she could react, the sand had pulled her under and threw her into the dark depths beneath the island.

After landing on piles upon piles of bones, Capriana quickly jumped up to shake off the dust of the dead to realise that the small island housed an enormous undersea cavern. Although dark, there seemed to be a curious blue bioluminescence that lead her way and before long she stumbled onto a pedestal that held a strange Artefact. It resembled the base of a mast with several mechanisms that appear to morph between different utilities. She cluelessly picked it up without hesitation and didn't think twice about slapping it on her wrist where her previous hook was...

The tides shifted, the cave rumbled and the pirate lords looked to the sea and realised it had been found. Millions of aquatic life migrated as the temperatures of their homes had changed and shifted, the skies twisted and turned as to decide which was the sea would be pushed. Capriana quickly boarded her ship and didn't realise what she was doing but all she knew is that the wind was in her favour and set sail on her next adventure...

Unknowingly with a target on her back.

Cool

This one feels very immersive like there's actually a storm going on. Quite fitting for that story
