Flesh of the Valley

Share

Flesh of the Valley or Valley Flesh is a mysterious organism that is not clearly understood. It was first discovered in a valley within the Fertile Crescent of the Middle East in the year 4997. In one of the major battles of a still ongoing World War III, a tactical nuclear bomb was dropped where it missed its target and detonated in the Euphrates River. After the explosion dissipated, a seemingly bottomless pit was opened where a multitude of abyssal creatures and Valley Flesh emerged and attacked what remained of the soldiers. Seventy years have passed since then and the Flesh of the Valley has now spread worldwide through International cave systems and bleeding seas. Its presence is now a general fact of life to what remains of humanity and the Valley Flesh will grow according to its “will” and is kept in check by the overwhelmingly destructive force of apocalyptic weather and the G.C.U’s purification campaign.

Trivia:

*It isn't known if Valley Flesh is a hivemind, single-mind, or even conscious.

*It causes humans and animals to mutate into abyssal creatures when contaminated by it.

*Deep reverberating heartbeats, swarms of Apertures, and bleeding structures are a precursor to its presence.

Artist’s Note:

Interior design is a frustrating challenge for me and I wasn’t bold enough to use markers. So I settled on colored pencils this time.

Oh this is excellent.

Nice! I was waiting for this ... stuff... to show up lol

Environments are tricky but this looks great, so keep at it !

VocitusVulpes responds:

Thanks, there are appearances of it in the Dullahan Barnacle post and Bivalve post.

I see you got the light shading where the light is shining, you have other details like the wood texture and corrosion around the flesh of the valley. I’d say you did an excellent job with the interior.

VocitusVulpes responds:

Thanks, I’ll try to recreate this post in the future when some progress is made.
