This was inspired by the line in the Iron Maiden song, "Run to the Hills" that says, "Riding through dust clouds and barren wastes, galloping hard on the plains." When I heard the line from the song, this image popped into my mind in an instant. 3 months and many hours of work later, you have this!

Thanks Newgrounds for the frontpage! :)

Not baddd

Hey nice painting here. The only thing I would mention is the light source and getting that contrast right so the eye has focal point or focal points to stare at. A thing to try is painting in greyscale so its just black and white - this gives you a really good starter on values which is very important and then colour over the top in another layer :D other than that... nice frontpage

when i hear that song i think more of the indians getting chased, but im not u and i cant draw anything near that gud, o to the kakashi guy below me, horses in a rush like that have focused eyes which do appear blurry up close, as if they wer crying. and only when drowning would a horses eyes start up in the manner which u have described. anyway gud image, i also want to ask, no dust behind the horses hooves as they run? it seemed like a major part of that line in da song so im just curious as to y not.

^^ lol fun word...
though this picture is amazing, adding a few things could make it simply phenomanal
the one detail that, though it isnt necessary and i havent seen anyone mention it, is the horses eyes,. i mean, for being at full paced and shot at, ect. the adrenaline is pumping and the eyes are... dull. they shold be widened in fear for its life, but thats my opinion for what i know about horses. :/
next is, for some reason i cant really explain, i just havethe feeling that it looks like a painting ( a great one, no doubt :P) and then cutouts of cowboys and indians glued on top... hteres no... depth, you could say. it mught be just me but idk...
the onyl other thing i have is the hoofprints. near the front(bottom) of the pic theres the rock and the dead guy. as you can see there are hoofprints on both sides of the rock, which doesnt make sense bc the horse;s hoofs arent that wide apart. of course there could be a horse that is not seen in the picture, but thats my observation
otherwise, i must say it is a truly amazing picture :)

Run for your lives.

Its a little posed in my personal perspective, but the drawings and proportions are spot on. This picture is a success in my book.
