25 essential expressions challenge

I like drawing facial expressions but I wanted to really see how distinct I make them for each character. I had trouble with some of them (like Triumph, Confident, and Despondent), and some of the expressions I think might look too similar to each other? Not just between characters, but specific expressions between the individual character… But I suppose that some expressions listed here are pretty similar in theory, plus it might say something about the character in question when some expressions look alike.

  • Also sorry that I skipped some for Allison lol; for Flirty I just don’t see her being like that at all (I’ve never said this before but basically she’s asexual, and some form of aromatic- demi, maybe?), and for Drunk idk how comfortable I am drawing her like that. I guess I could’ve changed it to “Disoriented” or something instead but ehhhhhhhhhhh whatever.
  • Doing Will’s expressions is interesting just because he’s typically not that outwardly expressive. So differences between faces might be only slight or basic, unless it’s a very specific expression.
  • I really like some of the expressions I did here for Jack, but some of them I’m just not satisfied with (like Fierce and Triumph)? Idk, it’s odd since he’s such an expressive character and I love drawing his expressions. Maybe it’s the limited space, maybe it’s my trouble trying to imagine the specific words, idk idk. I’m fine with what I did, though.
