Two regular nurse Leafcutter ants, 42 and 76, have their colony swarmed by an army of N. Esenbeckii (a type of army ant) and miraculously survive, by digging a small hole to hide into the earth, alongside one single unnamed larvae, simply called Larvae. They then have to get out in the forest to try to find a new colony, and survive, while taking care of the larvae the best they can.
