Synopsis:

Maria Bélisles is a nerd obsessed with photography, birds and the local fauna. She gets bullied a lot for her unconventional looks, clothing and weird hobbies, among other things, and over her five years at high school, that has driven her to be very reserved and shy, and hate herself immensely. She's planning on running away if this keeps going in a month, but what if someone comes by and helps her love herself..?

AAHSD is a quick story I wrote and finished in like, a week or more, which is just me venting out my frustrations, on all those highschool teenage romance novels and movies with weird tropes and unrealistic characters and events (pretty, conventionally attractive girl is victim of bullying. Bullies are too mean/too dumb, love interest is WAAYYY too flirty right away, or hes's just annoying/mean. Oh and the moral sometimes being like "victim changes how she looks and suddenly everyone loves her uwu" which is dumb as hell imo), and turning all the tropes into what I think would be either more realistic, or more entertaining :3
