Coco is staring at you. Menacingly. Maybe. Her toes slowly scrunch as she says, "Don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today."

----------

I'm not a fan of Animal Crossing. That doesn't mean I consider them bad games, not in the slightest. The only one that seems terrible is that Wii U amiibo trash, and amiibo is a trash gimmick in general.

The series is just not my cup of tea genre-wise. I get the appeal of life simulators, though. I mean, I enjoyed Sims 2 a lot back when I was a kid. However, Animal Crossing is also not a stand-out franchise when it comes to characters I find attractive. I mean, most are appropriately animals, and contrary to what my avatar makes you think, I'm not a furry. For the most part, I wanted to pork the default male Villager from Wild World (if that's the DS one) and the yellow dog.

But last year I warmed up to Coco. I'm not sure what sparked that. She's fucking weird to look at, weirder than most these creatures. It's like someone took a tree and tried to make a rabbit out of it. I'm mildly disturbed by her lack of eyes and the fact that her mouth can't move.

It's an adorable kind of disturbing, though. If I had no other option and she were my neighbour, fuck yes I'd worship her feet.

I didn't do much looking into the character this time around, but based on her design, I assume she's one of the nicer villagers. Then again, I'm not sure if Animal Crossing is the type of world where assholes exist. Other than maybe that cat that people obsessed about, that Raymond character. He looks like a douchebag.

Actually, that was something I learnt about this series around the time I initially sketched this piece (June of last year). Apparently, people really would pay money online to have certain villagers come to their island in the latest game on the Switch. As in, they'd be trading with each other. Now that is the dumbest shit I have heard of.

Even if I were a big fan of a certain villager, you've got me fucked up if you think I'm paying some dude online to send them to my island. It's not like a card game, where you need a character for an advantage. Plus, just be patient. Even if something has a rare spawn rate, it's not gonna kill you to wait.

I'm also gonna assume Coco is one of the more common villagers, on that front. And that's because she's apparently been around since the first game on Nintendo 64. So hey, if I did play that game, at least I'd have her by default.

Reminded that I should probably draw Isabelle again... I know she has a new look in New Horizons, but I'm more attached to that look and role in New Leaf.
