I made this using different gray pencils, more of those really dark and soft pencils for the first time. I am really proud of how this turned out.
Before I made the clouds and sky, I filled it in with a light pencil to skethc the rough idea of shadow in this piece. When I finally filled in the sky, I realised that the light pencil gave the sky a little motion like it was raining! An unintentional useful trick I discovered! Just make a texture with a light pencil, fill it in with a dark pencil, and the texture will show up through it!
Anyway, I really like the composition, and found out that skies are hard, but when you start somewhere, its not so bad. I dont know about he waves and the sea, but maybe next time I will focus more on that.
