Love this piece you've made! Good luck in the competition!
This was so fun! I recently took a trip to Australia and while i was in Cairns, I picked up a postcard for my mother depicting surfboards and BOOM! inspiration struck. Since I'm a surfer, I've long been fascinated by the different size, shapes, and textures of boards, so I decided to focus on texture for this painting. Each board is made from a different material (Plastic, photo-board, tissue paper, sandpaper, printer paper, watercolour paper, and an index card respectively) to give a different texture. The bushes are made of crumpled up paper towels and the metal roofing is made from the centre of a piece of cardboard. All the colour is done in acrylic paint. This took me 3 hours of planning and sketching and then 8 hours yesterday to complete :)
