I tried Picsart to animate again as there was an update. They screw up a lot oof things, I absolutely adore how I was able to work on it in the past but now every little thing doesn't work right.

1- my pencil strokes look really clean but when I let it go they become blurry. It wouldn't be a problem if my pencil stroke looked blurry from the very beginning. Maybe this isn't an issue for some but it is for me as it messes with my precision.

2- the bucket tool doesn't fill in the space where I used it. It leaves this very thin line of uncolored space that you can see the background through. I tried looking for some settings to expand the bucket tool but I failed to find any. (Weird feature but if you tap the area that you used this tool again it removes the color. In the past I would use the bucket tool again because it would expand some more every time I colored something, that way I could fix some gaps easily)

3- There is something weird going on with the pencil tool. I went over the gaps by hand but I changed the white to a different color so I could see the uncolored spots better. When I finish coloring her I used the bucket took again as I assume that it would turn the color I used white again but instead I was meet with a pencil track of everywhere that I colored. It was mostly white but there were random colored pixels all across her face and some places didn't turn white at all.

4- when looking at the project as a whole, I wasn't able to pause it and scroll through it frame by frame as I would do to spot mistakes but instead it would just stay in one frame no matter where I scrolled. This isn't a huge issue was you can watch your animation but you would have to keep an eye out and be very vigilant all the time and just keep repeating the animation over and over until you are sure it's good.

There are probably many other problems I encountered but these are the main ones I remember that were very impactful , annoying and baffling.

I suppose Picsart animator can work well for short animations that don't need color but I wouldn't trust this to make longer animations. The coloring simply makes this not worth it. Luckily I still have the old version on my iPad so I will probably still use it for some things. It was very disappointing to download this on my new tablet just to find out it doesn't work as great as it did before.

From what I can tell, it seems like it's a problem with both the pencil tool trying to act smooth, and the fill bucket not picking-up completely on the blur the pencil made. Haven't used that program before, but I wonder if there's a way to both decrease the blur on the pencil tool (or the ability to use different brushes), and/or increase how much the fill bucket is able to pick-up. Even then there's also the problem with you not being able to easily flip between frames as quickly.

Not an iPad user unfortunately, so I can't give you proper suggestion or alternative. Best I can do is use what I know from using programs like Krita and Gimp, or look online for other options like Animation Desk, Flipaclip, or Wick Editor. FlipaClip being the most popular option.

Though, I think despite these troubles the little animation still turned-out pretty good. Love the little smear frames on the wings, and the cute smile.

Cheery and happy! >^< So cute!
