Had a busy day and couldn't draw this in the morning when I wanted to, so I'm fashionably late. Whatever the case, I know there's mixed feelings about Shantae getting into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a Mii Fighter Costume, but I honestly wasn't expecting even this much, as much as I hoped against hope, so I'll take it! Plus, she comes with Burning Town music, to boot! I just wish my 100+ hours in Miitopia hadn't spoiled me so, because it's gonna be hard to go back to Nintendo's outdated default Mii creation tools. Ah, well. From what I saw in the presentation, Shantae's Mii Fighter Costume looks just fine during the frantic gameplay, anyway!

It's been a long journey, and while it may not be exactly what everyone wanted, I'm more than happy with it. Excited, even! To date, no indie dev has actually gotten a playable character in Smash (yes, I know Minecraft was originally indie, but it's now owned by Microsoft, and Minecraft is one of those phenomenons that took the world by storm overnight). Realistically speaking, her chances were always dubious, despite how well she did in the polls. I'd actually been saying to my friends for months now that I'd be more than happy if Shantae got in even as just a Mii Fighter Costume, and here we are. Honestly didn't even expect this. Can't wait 'til tomorrow to start using her!
