Even though he is part demon, even amongst them, Dave's raw strength is abnormal to say the least. The trade off for this abnormality seems to have weakened his natural demonic abilities, like fire, and the ability to fly. So far he can't conjure any fire, and his wings are too tiny for full flight, only capable of allowing him to glide. (wonder who he got that from.)
