i want to talk a lil bit about pixel art together with this picture.
if you missed it a few days ago all my drawings where removed from e621 and the reason that was given to me was "Does not meet minimum quality standards (artistic)" which seriously affected me i didn't think it did since its not the first time that something like this happens and i just kind of get told to go somewhere else but this really affected my mood and it has been a few days now since i drew anything.
a lot of my friends told me that my drawings were good and that they didn't deserve to be removed but i personally saw it as a chance to get better at what i love to do which is art and maybe come back one day and blow everyon away.
so it got me thinking about pixel art and how i draw it and how i see it.
i don't know what's so appealing about pixel art but everytime i see it it just look so special.
even very large pixel art images have a certain charm to them and i think the reason why that is is each pixel is an important part of the drawing.
its not like classic tablet drawings on computers where one line is made out of 100 pixel widht no its more every single pixel you see is an important part of the drawing
and without it there the drawing would not look the same at all.
what i do personally is very very very small pixel art where sometime an eye can be 2 to 3 pixels in size. i need to upskale my drawings by 800% for them to be viewable.
truth be told i don't like the fact my drawings are so small since if a single pixel can be an eye then it doesn't leave me much room to add details to my drawings.
i'm not saying a small pixel art is a bad thing i'm saying that a pixel art that is too small will lack a lot of detail.
and with all those details lacking i need to play on shadow and such to be able to trick most people's mind into seeing more then what the picture is showing you.
i have been learning pixel art by myself for 5 years now and it makes me kind of sad that i'm still basically a beginner but i think my main issue that i need to fix is upscaling my pixel.
right now everytime i make a canvas to start a drawing i set it at 100x100 so i can view the whole canvas on my screen while drawing a lot of time i upscale them in width and height midway to the drawing
but it never breaks the 300px it always below. which means my drawing will always remain small no matter how much i want them to be bigger since i don't even give myself the chance to allow my art to grow.
so from now on i will try to work on the different aspect i suck at.
i want to be able to draw perspective
i want to be able to draw shadows better
anyway those are a few drawing i made as practise one day i promis i will get better.
