Happy Valentine's Day! I've been busy for a while, prepping to post this artwork and speedpaint for a secret Valentine's Day art exchange - like a secret Santa, but for Valentine's Day - that I started on a Discord server I'm in. We all drew each other's OC x canon ships. Yes, that's Dr. Livesey. The other character, Adelyne, belongs to The_Goddess_of._.Astronomy on Instagram, who now also has a Newgrounds account under @UraniaHarmonia!

As an extra surprise for the recipient, I designed a whole new dress for Adelyne, and her creator gets to keep it! It took a couple tries to figure out how I wanted it to look, but in the end I was proud of it. I also stretched my boundaries a little with drawing lips, a new pose, and (gasp) some soft shading for the shiny textures! I was also going to give Dr. Livesey a new outfit - something red to go with the dress - but I figured that since I already made him look drastically different in this less cartoonish style, a different color scheme would just be confusing. So instead I just changed all the trim colors to gold for extra fanciness.

Enjoy your Valentine's Day, whatever way you might celebrate. I personally don't have anyone with whom I'd celebrate a traditional Valentine's right now, so in the leadup, I decided I was going to dedicate my time to giving to others and collectively indulging in a little romantic fantasy. Otherwise, it's just a normal Tuesday. If you're single too, make sure to treat yourself a little. No one's saying you have to give those flowers and chocolate to someone else, and if they are, they're assholes. Go forth and celebrate self-love!
