Harness, the Dragon

Share

Harness is one of my characters, and (for now) my face here on NewGrounds.
When he was 2 years old his back legs stopped growing, leading him to be abandoned by his family when he couldn't keep up with the migrating herd.
He's doing well for himself now. (I have a lot more back story for him but I wouldn't burden you with it here😊)
Once again, sorry for the quality, my scanner cannot handle color, (or y'all would see my colored art like this) I had my sister take a picture with her phone.
This is my first full drawing done with my new brush pen. Still getting used to it.

The design makes me think of an MLP version of Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon, except with stunted legs, rather than a missing tail fin. I imagine it must be difficult (if not impossible) to fly with those wheels, and if he can lower his wings to his sides in a similar fashion to how other winged animals in MLP do it, I wonder if they would ever interfere with the wheels while walking around town. I'm probably thinking too much into this.

It's an interesting character, and I love the starry night look of his scales. I bet he's an amazing pet for whomever cares for him and helps maintain his harness.

Thank you so much!
Wheels are actually lighter than they look, and his wings are immensely powerful to make up for his legs, if he were in mlp he would be a good head taller then the ponys, (think a bit shorter then Celestia) he isn't anybody's pet and takes care of himself.

Aw, that's really cute. I like the detail in the design of the wheel-chair-like device. It's interesting to see a dragon with a noticeable disability, as most pictures of dragons are more focused on being elegant or powerful.

TheStrawberryBazooka responds:

Thank you!
I like to think he is powerful in his own way.
