Hee ho! Hee ho! Come thee, Black Frost!

Was loosely inspired by that one video of audience members chanting "hee ho!" when Jack Frost was summoned onscreen during a live concert, as if it was a ritual. The basis of this scene was Bill Cipher's legendary ritual summoning from Gravity Falls, complete with the monstrous silhouette-like character. I went for Black Frost instead of Jack Frost because the silhouette of it's claws and pointy shoes makes for a truly more menacing summoning.

I originally wanted to add Whisper as one of the summoners but he'd stick out, I downgraded to him reading the compendium and chanting the words but there wasn't enough room and I completely removed him. I added in Coal from Jewelpet because he was menacing enough to fit into the drawing.

I also had...trouble deciding on the night-time palette for the ritual, even though I wanted to avoid looking like a generic night-time scene; I ended up using the Simpsons Hit & Run Level 7 palette with the olive hues, fitting the scene very well. I was also originally going to make the summon effects orange, but I went with blue in the end to make it look more like a (portable?) Velvet Room summoning. At first it didn't seem like a wide choice, but it worked due to the colour also being menacing.

This was also intended to be a "portrait poster" sized drawing but there wasn't enough room for the two characters, so I turned it into a fake screencap sort-of artwork. I also had to adjust the ritual circle candles and design because I wanted a fuller view of Hackmon and the book coming to life, resulting in the circle design being changed. I also tried to make use of "digital cel cgi" effects via limited airbrush shine usage, which turned out fine in the end.
