ooooo I love that symbolism of death in the background! Really rounds of a fantastic colourup!
I had the idea to have the image moonlit from the "camera" and the color of the illuminated wife as the color of love, and the color of fire as the color of loss. My thought process was that one side of him would be lit in a cool blue color from his wife. I then wanted to make the rest of the image in blue hues to indicate that love is everywhere. It just helps that blue is a sad color in my opinion. Then, I made the city on fire and lit the other side of him in very warm colors coming from the grim reaper in the background. I feel "Death" is the reason for the loss so the color should be coming from him. I feel the color of love being evident on the man really makes the color of loss pop on him.
