Back during April of 2022, when I was still working on Warden Blueberrezu, the commissioner brought up a pipe dream project of theirs: five women from the fighting series BlazBlue blown up into big, beautiful blueberries, as he'd never once seen artwork of them all blue and BWOOMPHED before. After looking up up their character profiles on a wiki page, I decided to help make that dream a reality. And now, after months of work, I proudly present the first three pictures of a new pinup series, BlazBlueberry!

There will be five pieces in total of this first set. I was hoping to have all five done by Christmas, but unfortunately, I draw slower that two glaciers having sex to 'Slow Ride,' so I was only able to finish three and get part of the way through the fourth. All preceding drawings will be posted as they are completed.

First up is Es, the robit learning to be a real gurl (Blade Runner's influence on anime is ubiquitous), with "tits as large and unwieldy as her sword."

One of the design philosophies I had approaching this series was I wanted to make each transformation unique, one of which was using colors from their default palettes as a basis for the hues each girl would be when they've turned into a blueberry. For Es, that meant use of more muted slate greys as a base with indigo for shading. I might have gone a bit overboard with the indigo, however.

Another idea that was consistent even in the earliest concept process was using rather flat camera angles and poses to reflect Es's square, almost coldly analytical personality. But one detail that was added later into the process was during my initial sketching of Es as she appears in official media for my own personal character studies was I noticed that -- visibly in her swimsuit -- just what a plump, delicious m o u n d Es has, and determined it would be criminal not to keep that fantastic F.U.P.A when she's a fruit.

A favorite detail of mine is her expression, which was based on a cross between when Hinata first treats Es to a friendly, mutual shower, and when Es first tastes pudding, and subsequently experiences the wonders of human happiness for the first time.

She might be flummoxed, but Es is slowly starting to come around to the realization that she likes being a blueberry.
