So, a lot of people asked us early on, "Why set it in this time period, when the world is on the brink of utter chaos and destruction?" To be honest, one of the first images of "The Depths" we ever perceived, was Leilani in a 1920s "flapper" dress, diving off of a steamer ship into the sea. ^^ "The Depths" just had to be in the "good old days". And while it may be mid-late 1930s here, the story goes back into the past to those "Roaring Twenties". Here is where Leilani (and others) mature into beautiful adults, and learn a great deal about life - and sadly death.
