Cool!
*POSTED FOR CONSOLIDATION's SAKE*
So, after a lot of grapping with how much I HATE backgrounds and how they bore me, we reach here, which I kinda like for a Hannah Barbara vibe, like in how Scooby-Doo no characters are actually shaded even when in pitch black. Honestly, this could be a final image, although the background will have more coloring. As much as I hate the backgrounds of my work, I do need to make choices at this point for the shading to work. Namely, what's the time of day, and what's the light direction and color. I chose night, and to have some bluish moonlight from directly above.
So I really wanna gush about this new method I'm using for the digital art side of things. I am very comfortable with pencil, pen and prismacolor, but shading in Krita was ... really hard. I'll describe the process below for artists who wanna know - or even better for those who do know and can give me some pointers. I'll say that I'm kind of embarrassed it took me this long to finally figure it out, but I'm happy to have improved my work.
Cool!
Thanks!
