The double bitted axe is popularly depicted in fantasy settings. Often it’s the huge barbarian’s choice, but in the real world it wasn’t widely used for combat. Two notable historical versions were the Persian Tabar and the Greek Labrys. Meabh’s axe is closer to the Labrys, because of the limitations of these raiders. However, it’s also that style, because the Labyrs has matriarchal symbolism. I thought it was a clever choice for a female authority figure.
