A spoof of one of many comic-adverts done by Charles atlas in the sixites and early seventies.

Charles Atlas was an Italian body-builder hooked on sellin the men of the sixties (what can now be described as) self-help books on how to get jacked. To do this he released an obscene amount of kitschy (at the time decently serious) comic-oriented adverts. This was created by me for a zine I’m putting together with friends called “Every Single Space Monkey”. The name was random but I decided to stick with the theme.

The comic was originally drawn by hand. I took the photos into a digital program in order to add color, text, and effects to mimic old styles of printing. The section at the bottom was made in the same digital program using free fonts and my meager graphic design experience.
