Zethra is an alien insectoid creature. She is a Xeranid "princess", meaning that she can be a main reproducer for her particular sub-species. Unfortunately, she is one of the last of her race in the galaxy. Fully mature Xeranid "queens" produce a highly sought-after substance known as royal jelly, a rare space delicacy. Because of this, almost all of the mature queens have been captured and contained in facilities for jelly harvesting.

Zethra has a relaxed personality. She is mainly peaceful in nature, but can become vicious in an instant when threatened or offended. Zethra lives alone, and has never had any other Xeranid or human contact. Because of this, it can be very difficult to gain her trust. Zethra is fairly intelligent. She can understand a few spoken languages and read as well. When speaking, Zethra has an accent somewhere between North American English and Australian. She likes sweets, sugary drinks, electronic music.
