I wanted something a bit more faithful to the Algonquin folklore... but I AM a sucker for antlers. I figured this was a nice middle ground. I also really wanted this piece to feel more... forlorn, solemn. It's a terrifying image but at the same time you catch a glimpse of the wendigo as a pitiful, lost creature in a lonesome, tranquil setting.
