Lore: The Fall of the Okami

These once reasonable beings the Okami, were the first to return to a primal nature when the Golden Flame was taken. Their souls being so engrained in the concepts of dangerous hunting creatures.

Prior, they would still hunt, but only eat what was needed. Forming small spread out dens and a central village, they'd practice transformation magic. One could argue they were some of the first pioneers of it akin to the rarer Foxes. They used this to help themselves become incredibly adaptable when hunting. From throwing spears of emulated bone, to rapidly changing into toothed horrors to take on larger foes.

But, they didn't strike out upon other villages unless they attempted to take territory from them. Having a uneasy but peaceful agreement.

After the Golden Flame was taken from the Kodama Village, the Okami were one of the first outside of the Kodama to try and stop it. Their very souls depended on it. But the forces were too well prepared, being able to be pierced multiple times and still keep attacking. One Golem Knight could take on 5-1, as well as the archers raining hell from afar with arrows that most couldn't avoid.

Once the Flame left the forest, it was too late for the Okami. And they knew it. In a matter of days their decades of culture, their great village the formed, was torn apart by their own hunger.

Nothing remained.
