I listen to the sound of the oil lamp nearby

It's a bit colder up in the mountains but

I'm none to deserve to hold you this close

It surprises me that you allow such thoughts in me to arose.

I think the deaths we faced or caused

Somehow made us into this close knit pair today

We rarely think much about what is ahead but

You're there at the end of the day,

We never strafe far from each other,

And it has me confused-

Why do you let me hold you so close

Your eyes and mine, they both are closed shut

The crackling of the flames are keeping me up

Your slow breathing is calming me down.

It's colder tonight, it'll be tomorrow,

And you might keep the guard,

if you see I'm tired

because despite all the blood splatters

your heart is so tender

It upsets me that I can hold you this close
