Oh geez, this thing has so many alts. Some of them will come later when I am more awake and able to manage the myriad of layers that I put into the file.
I would have put this art on my Twitter, but I'm not liking how it is being managed, and the possibility of AI-art-skimming.
WHEW.
THIS. IS. DONE. It took me TWO years to put this picture together. Why? Anatomy, Detail, Layers, Masking, etc. SO MANY SCALES. ARGH!
I also had to worry about other projects and life responsibilities, which made it difficult to stay on one task.
If there is one character that I really like from Rick Griffin (the long-running artist behind the famous webcomic "Housepets!", and a host of other stories, art and creations), it's the reptilian beach-surfer Guana.
I don't know why, but one of the inspirations behind this was this particular song from a ZX Spectrum demoscene presentation (You'll see why in the later alts):

It just seems to fit Guana, somehow.
I really hope Rick continues to make art of Guana in the future, because he's probably one of his best-designed characters.
