This is a scene from the novel I'm writing!

Stoic stared into the tank of water in front of him, trying to figure out what the hell he was looking at. The creatures inside LOOKED like lobsters, if lobsters had...fur. He grimaced, moving away from the tank, trying to put the thought of eating those things out of his mind. He had already found most of what they would need. He stuck to the basics; ground beef, chicken, sausage. He knew Devil loved breakfast food, so he made sure to get some breakfast things too. Pancake mix, maple syrup, and a few boxes of cereal. Now he was just making his way through the aisles, humming softly as he did a quick scan of the area. Nothing unusual, besides the robotic employees' massive smiles. It was what Xtra Mart was known for, being extra at everything. Stoic was convinced that half of the brands they carried were totally made up. He paused in front of a fridge aisle, peering into the misty glass to look at the brands they had.

“Death milk; now with lactose tolerance!”

“Egg but with Quotation Marks”

“Holy Fucking Shit This IS Butter!”

He snickered slightly, shaking his head as he continued. The meat section was massive, and he took a quick glance at the time. He had a few minutes left before he had to meet back with Doc. He let out a small hum, turning around to head back to the produce section.

As he walked, even more, strange brands caught his attention.

“Mystery Meat; Now with 70% more surprises!”

“Killer Serial; Free Murder Weapon in EVERY BOX!”

Stoic kept his eyes in front of him as he passed by the live tanks. He didn’t know why, but passing by all of the weird creatures gave him the jitters. Part of him wondered if it was because he knew what it felt like to be strung up on a meat hook-
