The huge glass doors slid open, allowing the two entrance as they crossed the threshold.

Doc took a deep breath, the smell of floor wax and clean air filling his lungs. Stoic glazed around, already missing his glasses. Normally he would do a quick scan, but he couldn’t without his lenses. Oh well, he could get another pair while they were there. Doc started to re-read the list when a way-too-friendly voice startled him out of his focus.

“ Greetings, sir and ma’am! Welcome to Xtra Mart! How can I help you today? ”

Doc turned to the source of the voice. It was a tall, perky robotic assistant. She looked at Doc with a smile that was almost unnaturally wide. Doc shot her a glare, standing up a bit straighter.

“It’s sir , and we don’t need any help.”

“ Alright ma’am! Just let me know if you need anything! ”

Stoic couldn’t help but let out a snicker as he watched Doc visibly begin to fume. Doc growled something that Stoic couldn’t hear, tightening his ponytail against his head as he began to walk.

“ Jesus , why can the AI never tell that I’m a man??”

Stoic shrugged, unable to keep himself from grinning.

“Well, you have the entirety of your face covered, and you have long hair-”

“What, are we back in the 1900’s?? Can men not have long hair!?”

Doc snapped. Stoic held his hands up, laughing at Doc’s rage.

“Apparently not according to AI! Don’t get mad at me, I didn’t program it!”
