Counterstrike came from rough beginnings as a Decepticon… He was an elite sniper, tasked with guarding a Decepticon base on one of Cybertron’s many cities. Right as he was about to shoot, He was thrown off guard by an Autobot ambush which was apart of the Autobot’s plan to divert the sniper. As punishment, Shockwave experimented on the ‘con. Removing one of his oculars, replacing it with an unstable remote optical sensor, tampering with his spark, etc. At the end of it… he became both upgraded and downgraded. He sought to join the Autobots through his close friend Emeraldace, who had joined the Autobots, cycles prior to this. On day one, he was paired with Quickboost on a stealth attack mission, which his first reactions were filled with nervousness and embarrassment. During the mission, he was captured, then rescued by Quickboost. This further accelerated the relationship between them, which led to Quickboost adoring him, and eventually both falling in love with each other. The two are partners, both as Sparkmates and as Teammates aboard “The Versabots”.
