"Rise and Shine, Sweetheart"
Although this scene is of an apocalypse, I wanted to portray a more calmer, quiet feeling, hence I went with the sun low in the sky, and the rain just beginning to fall. I made the ghost merge with the background a little bit, to show how she is not fully part of the picture anymore for the man who has to live day by day without her. I hope that gives a sense of nostalgia and sympathy, as I felt when Jazza created this piece (I love this portrayal! It's got such a poetic feel to it).
First time on newsgrounds and entering a Jazza competition. I had so much fun with this, trying out different lighting, skies and palettes. Good luck to all!
Also check out Jazza (Josiah Brooks), the one who drew the amazing lineart for this piece
