Felted Woolly Bear

This Pyrrharctia isabella caterpillar was the first thing I ever felted! There is a lot to improve and I will probably make another woolly bear again. Regardless, this is still a very special critter for me.

-- This caterpillar is part of a small collection of felted creatures that I made a few years ago. 2D art coming again soon, I am currently experimenting with a new art style. --

This is so cute! I got confused for a sec when I saw the thumbnail because I thought huh where's the bear, but then I realized you meant the caterpillar and it made much more sense haha

I love these things, I remember I loved to hold them when I was a kid because I thought they were cool. This small toy you made is very accurate to how it looks, especially because it's meant to be all fuzzy! I also really like how you did the underside, as it looks like a bunch of little caterpillar moving feet things. Anyways great job, keep it up!!

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! :D

Also you made a good point about the common name for the woolly bear. Why is it a "bear"? After reading your comment I did a little bit of digging- and it's anyone's best guess! Some think it's because of its fuzzy bristles, and some think it is because of its short, round shape.
(Maybe it should have been named the woolly *teddy*bear! Haha)

Thank you again! :)
