In an unexpected turn of events, what had led to a basic investigation led into me finding another world.

I like to think what happened was simply a misunderstanding of sorts, maybe it was even done on purpose. I would have never expected to step into the forest, activate my light, and realize I wasn't home anymore.

What instead greeted me, was a field of blue grass, and a bunch of strange budded flowers, along with other strange flora off into the evening sky. Ahead of me was a slender, white colored body sporting a red outfit.

"Hey! I yelled at the creature, who had not turned around but jumped a bit at the activation of my torch, "What is this? How'd you do this?"

The creature turned its head toward my direction, wearing a smile, and instead of responding to me simply said something along the lines of "Balo, we forgot to close portal" in a light voice.

Then, the thing referred as Balo came to the location of the other creature and asked in a strong, deep voice "You let lesser run into portal? It was Ulo portal" and tapped one of its long fingers onto the other's shoulder.

"You guys speak my language? I asked, "whats the point of all this?"

They both turned and looked at me, and burst out into laughter.

"We not only know your language" the thin alien started, "We probably invented it. Look at how scared he was, he almost pissed himself!"

"I think we should speak the foolery language more often, I love watching the lessers get scared when we suddenly address them like this" the larger creature remarked.

"Lessers?" I asked.

"Lesser people. Those part of the place of your origin" the smaller alien replied, "you should not be here though, we need to stop letting them through like this!"

"What is the point of this then?" I asked.

"This is our home realm" it responded, "I'm Ulo and that large hunk of meat over there is Balo".

"And you should not be here" Balo responded.

"Right" Ulo responded, "can we at least torture a lesser?"

"No remember the last time we did, we got yelled at after it escaped" Balo said, pointing its finger at me and saying "especially not if this fine specimen here knows about us now".

"How did I even get here?" I asked.

Ulo looked at me with its strange smiling face and said "Balo left the invisible portal entrance open".

Within a second Balo wound up its arm and hit Ulo in the face. Ulo did not show a single sign of pain despite getting completely decked.

Balo then corrected, "ULO LEFT THE PORTAL OPEN!".

"We left the portal open because we wanted to scare you after scaring other people from your homeworld" Ulo spoke, almost over Balo's retort, "and we're gonna give you a little while to take it all in now, as you're on the most scenic of our roundworlds".

"Roundworlds?" I asked.

"Yes" Ulo responded, "look at the floating cities our realm is made up of. You're standing on one of the least inhabited ones so congratulations".

"He needs to go back" Balo yelled, "We cannot let him stand here any further".

"Ok FINE" Ulo sighed, still keeping its strange smile, and said while winking "I'll be back for you later sweetie".

Feeling freaked out, I started walking back to the "portal" they pointed me to after Balo hit Ulo again. I had recorded the entire interaction on a small hidden device I had on my chest, as I suspected that the creatures I saw where I came from were not normal at all (and was right).

"Man you guys suck" I said, "I didn't even get a tour or nothing".

"And you swallow! AHAHAHAHA!" Ulo said bursting into laughter, "go fuck yourself now!".

The portal disappeared behind me as I stepped through and I have yet to see those two in particular again. I might know somebody who's interacted with those white creatures before, but surprisingly this isn't even the craziest thing that's happened recently. That's a story for another day.
