Second from left is Sonic 3, I think? It looks like the way my child brain at the time saw him when I was drooling over preview screenshots in the gaming magazines at the time.

I was bored one day so I decided in that same day to upscale a number of classic Sonic sprites. I used the prototype Sonic Chaos sprite because it's objectivebly the better one.
