in case you haven't heard, Kabosu - famously known online as Doge, had passed away 24th of May at age 18. No - unfortunately it's not a hoax this time.

Honestly the internet's reaction to Kabosu's passing has been pretty depressing, as so far most of the tributes I've been seeing online for Kabosu mainly comes in AI generated content or from cryptobros news-sites. Whilst I honestly don't care for the whole AI debate nor do I care about crypto — seeing this amazing doggo who shaped internet history several times and lived 18 years (That's literally like. 72% of my life as of this post) be remembered as only the face of some virtual coin feels... incredibly empty and artificial to me.

Kabosu is more than just some techbro's funny coin, she represents an entire era of the internet - an entire culture(s) that shifted and changed many times throughout her 18 years. And as the years passed on and she gotten ever more grey - so did the internet as well. From a net filled with colourful and wholesome comic sans text to now a net filled with hateful sarcasm and corporates draining the life out of everything, I think it's safe to say her passing marks the end of an era.

Whilst I don't know what is ahead of us from now, I still felt a great need to pay proper respects and give a colourful goodbye to Kabosu, who brought many colourful memories to me as far back as when I was 12 years old. I don't want her to be remembered as the face of some dumb coin, I want her to be remembered as a symbol for many people's childhood. Kabosu, the cryptobros may had stolen the moon from you — but that's okay, cause there's a place much higher waiting for you.

(p.s sorry for the muddy colouring and weird clouds. I only started painting recently and still trying to get the grasp for colours and shading.)

Not enough Shiba, So sad, Much wow, down with corporate hedonism. Rise to the revolution comrade

I loved your reflection. I think I haven't really thought that much about it until I read this. Thank you for your words. It brought a refreshing deepness that I wasn't expecting.
