Started concepting out a Kitsune Tribe for my comic book, here are the main faces of the Nogitsune Tribe. They all adopt the Nogitsune surname when they get inducted into the tribe. Not all of them were kitsunes from the start, most members of the Nogitsune tribe undergo a ritual that turns them into Kitsunes. This ritual can make the person lose all memory of their past life unless they have a strong enough willpower, after this point they pick their own given name, adopt the surname, and begin their new eternal life among the secluded tribe. Every member of the tribe can live their lives as they see fit, and there is no specific leader, but they all look to their Shaman, Shiryoku, for guidance.

Shiryoku Nogitsune

Age: Over 1000 years

Race: True Kitsune

Role: Shaman and unofficial leader

Bio: One of the oldest, if not THE oldest, kitsune in the world of Sevarin. She spent the first few hundred years living in isolation, avoiding the many conflicts of humans, and peacefully enjoying her self exile in nature. Eventually finding her spiritual awakening, she followed divine guidance, and came across Shiro and sheltered her from yokai hunters. The two then formed the tribe and began inducting social outcasts to form a peaceful commune in the Deep Wood, a vast forest that is home to many fae and the barrier between the material plane and the spirit world is almost non existent.

Shiro Nogitsune

Age: 300 years

Race: True Kitsune

Role: Massage Therapist / Consort

Bio: Shiro was once a small fox spirit that had been adopted by a terminally sick daughter of a noble. When the maiden passed away to her illness, one of her last wishes was to give her body to Shiro, so she could live a fulfilling life that the maiden never could have. The noble didn't believe Shiro and thought she killed his daughter to steal her body, and hired many mercenaries to hunt her down. After finding safety with Shiryoku in the Deep Wood, Shiro now spends her days running a spa for the many tribeswomen, and occasionally makes "business" trips to nearby villages, using the funds to get needed supplies that they can't get in the woods, but a lot of times she just gets side tracked with all the fun.

Mia Nogitsune

Age: 26

Race: Former Human Kitsune

Role: Ranger/Guard

Bio: Mia, like most Nogitsune girls, no longer remembers her past life. She only remembers her skillsets that she had as a human. According to Shiro, she was a ranger sent into the Deep Wood as punishment for insubordination in the Fir Empire military. The tribe welcomed her in with open arms, and now Mia has no interest of what her live was and spends her days protecting Shiro on her "business" trips and helping Kyuda hunt for food in the woods.

Ihana Nogitsune

Age: 500

Race: Former Elf Kitsune

Role: Enchantress Wizard/Scholar

Bio: Ihana is one of the rare Nogitsune girls that remembers her whole past life. She was a Wizard from the Nation of Gu, on a research journey of the Deep Wood. She became enamored with all of the magical anomalies in the forest and requested to join the Tribe so she can stay forever and further her quest for knowledge. While in the tribe, Ihana spends her days studying the forest, and long nights enchanting items for her fellow tribeswomen.

Kajiya Nogitsune

Age: 32

Race: Former Goliath Kitsune

Role: Blacksmith/Foreman

Bio: Kajiya was a blacksmith for the Kingdom of Ro. She came to the Deep Wood in search of more exotic ores to improve the quality of her weapons but was gravely wounded by a Displacer Beast while exploring the forest. She was discovered by Mitsuki who nursed her back to health. Kajiya fell in love with Mitsuki and married her shortly after joining the tribe. Kajiya loves to let Mitsuki dye her hair all kinds of colors, and Kajiya crafts all kinds of new piercings for her wife.

Mitsuki Nogitsune

Age: 36

Race: Former Halfling Fennec Kitsune

Role: Body Artist

Bio: Mitsuki was a nomadic halfling with no real place to call home. She's fairly reserved and keeps to herself and loves piercings, tattoos, and body paints. Shiryoku found her wandering the Deep Wood and fell in love with her creativity. Now Mitsuki spends her days piercing, tattooing, and painting every kitsune in the tribe to help everyone express themselves uniquely. She can't help but be enamored with her wife, Kajiya's positive and supportive nature, and loves every piece of jewelry that Kajiya makes for her.

Kyuda Nogitsune

Age: 24

Race: Former Halfling Fennec Kitsune

Role: Huntress

Bio: Not much is known about Kyuda as she rarely talks and is very shy, but she takes pride in her ability in tracking and hunting game for the village. She will gladly teach anyone in the ways of hunting and archery as those are her biggest passions in life. Kyuda was the woman who found Kajiya and killed the displacer beast. She couldn't move Kajiya due to the size difference, but her swift speed helped her get to the tribe and get members to come and nurse Kajiya back to health.
