GARGOYLE

TYPE: GREATER DEMON

DATA:

Gargoyles are airborne demons that are commonly found in the last three layers of Hell. Unlike Malicious Faces, which manipulate Hell Energy to levitate, Gargoyles fly by use of a pair of wings. Although primitive, this method of flight grants them advanced aerial mobility.

Also unlike Malicious Faces, Gargoyles rarely make use of projectile attacks, instead preferring to get up close and personal with their prey, using their sharp talons and durable heads to slash and bludgeon their targets to death.

Gargoyles tend to perch on buildings, ruins, and other architecture, typically alongside other Gargoyles. Similar to Cerberi, they remain in a dormant state until an intruder draws near, at which they will attack with extreme ferocity. However, unlike Cerberi, Gargoyles will almost always awaken as soon as their territory is entered. As such, it is believed that Gargoyles don't enter a true dormant state, but rather mimic one to ambush intruders.

STRATEGY:

- Unlike other demons, the Gargoyle's wings are highly flammable. A direct hit with an incendiary weapon will set them ablaze, grounding the Gargoyle.

- The Gargoyle's unarmored underbelly is especially vulnerable to attacks. One should be vigilant when positioning themself under it, however, as this may prompt the Gargoyle to retaliate with a dive-bomb.

- One should take care when fighting this foe in close-quarters combat, as it is a vicious melee fighter.

- Their speed and agility may make them a difficult target for projectile weapons. Attaching a magnet may alleviate this.
