Born in East Germany, Hydra was an talented actor before becoming involved with the American criminal underworld, where he used his talents for disguise to become an assassin, due to this career change, he was regarded as one of the best assassins in business. He considers himself to be above most other people, which is why he accepted the chance of becoming a Decepticon. His younger brother is Buster.
