Hi, this is my first Challenge of the Month (and my first art challenge at all), hope you like it, or better I hope it's not that bad at least :)
About my entry, I think it deserves a little explanation because I actually don't know whether my idea is clear or not.
I wanted to express the idea of the "real world" with traditional art, so reality is traditional art. To convey this, I used three Van Gogh paintings, "The Bedroom" in which the action takes place, "Starry Night" outside the window and Van Gogh's interest, and a portrait of Van Gogh which actually wasn't painted by him, it is part of the painted movie "Loving Vincent".
The idea of "digital world" is obviously conveyed by the graphic monitor Van Gogh is using to portray what he sees outside the window, and it's the only thing in the entire image drawn and painted realistically (with my abilities limits). So everything that is not real, being digital, is our actual reality.
It's difficult to explain, but in the end reality and art are simply overturned.
I didn't participate to win, because I know there's a long way ahead of me to actually create something that can be called "art", and it's just been 4 months since I started using a digital tablet, but it was interesting making something that has a (twisted) meaning, that is at least pretty.
