Im no rock expert, but what you made is beautiful. I was going to say it looked like water color paint till I read your very descriptive description. You clearly have a passion for art to do the process you did for this piece and I will follow you to see more great works like this. I have no suggestions for you. I love the colors, I love the texture, I love how they blend. Fantastic work.

I love rocks. I love the color purple. Guess what my favorite stone is.
It’s a trick question. I can’t pick a favorite stone. Labradorite is pretty baller though.
I’m not sure if this would be considered a sketch…this was made with alcohol markers (knock-off copics lol), a regular pen, and off-brand Yupo “paper” (which is really a plastic). Yupo is impermeable which causes the marker ink to sit on the paper as a liquid for a few seconds which causes some interesting, watercolor-like behaviors.
Using another marker on top of a dried area can re-liquify the existing marker stroke in a way that allows you to sort of nudge the previous color out of the way. With patience, a colorless blender marker, and a scrap paper you can lift color off the page. It’s like an eraser. Sort of.
