Love, Loss and Extinction

The artwork is set on an alien planet where the inhabitants are being invaded by another race, the image depicts the final moments of an alien as he mourns his dead wife, before receiving the same fate.
I used coloured pencils, fine-liners and paints as well as a layered effect by cutting out the image and sticking it onto different levels of paper.
It's for Jazza's challenge of the month and the line work is Jazza's.
