I've been trying to find a metaphor for Elfilin's chipped ear after finding out he didn't get it from his encounter with The Beast Pack. And now, I think I've got it. When we first see Fecto Forgo, we notice that one of its "ears" takes on a weird shape, almost appearing unfinished. They also lack fur for the most part, have closed eyes for the most part, and even resemble a fetus. Whereas on Elfilin, we only see the chipped ear. He’s covered in fur, has some of the prettiest blue eyes you ever did see and even has a tail. This just goes to show that even though the two organisms were always associated as one being, they're both very different in a way. Elfilin is seen to greatly benefit Fecto Forgo, causing them to take on a physical form which allows them to invade other planets across the galaxy and fulfill its horrible intentions. But Elfilin alone harnesses so much benevolence and can roam freely without his other half, projecting his beloved kindness at will. I see his chipped ear as being the missing "half". And Elfilin's missing half is a lot smaller than that of Fecto Forgo, who again, is underdeveloped and dormant. Fecto Forgo has very little significance to Elfilin. But when it comes to Fecto Forgo, without Elfilin, they can't even move. And it's such a beautiful realization. It almost seems like Fecto Forgo and Elfilin were never meant to be one being, especially because that being has shown to be a huge threat to multiple civilizations.

The ending in The Ultimate Cup Z filled me with such relief when I realized that Fecto Forgo had been stripped of its bad parts, and the small amounts of goodness that resided in them returned to Elfilin once more. Such a satisfying ending.
