I wanted to create a poster or cover for a comic in the style of Metabarons for a series that does not exist. I went for a combination of Byzantine and Aztec visual elements to convey the strangeness of the royal culture of this universe.
And this: what a bad-ass cover.
Strange and intricate... elegant, seems like a potential creator of all on top, her heart a machine that powers the working of the world. Makes you want to get into their realm and explore; learn more.
Imaginative and expressive work! Reminds a bit of Studio Gibli. So much to look at. So free but clear forms too.
