Super Famicom's 30th Birthday!

Today is the 30th anniversary of the Super Famicom released in Japan November 21st. I have to admit that this console is part of my childhood since my family owns a Genesis back then (one of my relatives gave me a Genesis as a Christmas gift during in the mid 90's.) The only legit time I have to play the Super Nintendo is at a party and at home with my cousin back then and later my cousin allows me to barrow the system with some games and Chrono Trigger which my brother and sister played the hell out of this (I own a Snes classic mini now but no Chrono Trigger sadly...)

This mural took me around several months made in Aseprite with 75 color palettes. It also depicts characters and indie game characters from a snes inspired pixel art games that familiarize some people. There are also Super Nintendo related cultures and easter eggs I've hidden in here so if you find one you're confused about what character you want to point out just let me know in the comments (I'll do my best.) You can also comment about your memories with the system as well because this system is worth the childhood.

Have fun searching and Happy Birthday Super Famicom!

I know it sounds silly, but I'm psyched to see a Wild Arms reference. And I see those indies, Iconoclast, Retro City Rampage, Crosscode!!!

This is an amazing piece, I'd love to see how big the reference folder is.

Love the dedication man. I grew up around the n64 and super Nintendo. I remember kicking back and watching my uncle play through entire games like Donkey Kong Country, Earthworm Jim, and Super Mario All-Stars. Watching him defeat the final boss 'Wart' for the first time in Super Mario Bros 2 is one of my fondest memories. Thanks for the nostalgia!

ScepterDPinoy responds:

Nice! If I recall I beated Wart on an Snes emulator back in the early 2000...

Now this is a masterpiece! IMO most things frontpaged are just gimmicky garbage by edgelords but this is truly fantastic! 5/5 all day

I love how you included the satellaview with the famicom and the fact you remembered clay fighter with Bad Mr. Frosty

ScepterDPinoy responds:

Did remembered to see my other cousins play as Mr. Frosty in clay fighters on the Snes at their house long time ago.
