A reptilian bird-like species that hunts with its long sharp snout and is a favorite prey of the Iguacko. They are called the “Haostriye” which means “Spear Head”.

Appearance:

The Haostriye are tall bird-like reptilian creatures with long necks, small arms with a single claw, and black bodies with ultramarine blue heads, necks, hands, and feet. The males have a bigger black crest than the females. What got them their name is their long sharp snout.

Diet:

They are omnivorous and insectivorous. They’ll mainly eat fruit, plants, insects, aquatic lifeforms, and small creatures.

Behavior:

They are mostly solitary creatures but when threatened, they’ll try to make themselves more larger and intimidating.

When hunting, they will move as slowly as they can, approaching prey until they come into range before standing still. With a quick thrust, they impale their prey with their sharp spear-like snout.

When the time of mating comes, males will perform a dance for the females, waving their crests around and producing noises from their throats. Once a mate is found, a female is capable of laying up to 7 eggs.
