Backyard Brawler Smash Team - Fraymakers Kickstater Art Contest

Share

I'm excited to present my Backyard Brawler Smash Team consisting of Octodad (Dadliest Catch) and Diogenes (Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy).

  • I chose Octodad mainly because I'm a Dad and I loved that game. My son (9) suggested Diogenes as the support character which I feel is a perfect match. It's said the original real world Diogenes (300BC) believed that all humans were "cynical in nature" and could therefore not be trusted. Has Diogenes finally found an honest human??
  • Sure, Octodad is lying about what species he is but maybe his intentions are so pure (survival/ be a good dad/husband) that Diogenes trusts him?
  • I imagine a scenario where the Octodad family has homeless, controversial, crazy uncle Diogenes over for a BBQ and they end up defending the backyard from challenging brawler teams.

The Red Gnome from Octodad's backyard is a huge fan and is also trying to get some attention because he wants to be a new support character with graffiti abilities!

  • This is the first Artwork I've shared publicly in about a lifetime so please be gentle. Constructive critiques are encouraged :) My Photoshop skills have improved a lot over the process of this work. It was enjoyable and hopefully just the beginning as I can feel the creative juices flowing again! Never stop creating people :)

Thank-you to Newgrounds, McLeod Gaming and everyone involved with the Fraymnakers game and Art Contest!

With so many amazing submissions of high skill and creativity.. I love them all!
