My ill attempt at a kitten. Why does fur have to be so hard to paint?

A smooth kitty

Now here we have a smooth kitty that comes together well with all the lines backrounds aswell it all seemed to come together very well, and I like this piece, nice job.

~~THINGS TO IMPROVE ON~~
As for improvments its hard to pinpoint any area of need as you have put together a nice piece, so nice job overall.

The looks real fluffy, But you're missing some real good dark tones. If you're working digitally with layers, try shading the cat first. Then on a separate layer do a dark layer of fur at about 30 - 50% opacity, Then adding another layer and going over it with lighter fur. I think this may help with the fur.

If you're working with paint tool sai or photoshop, you can get fur texture brushes to quicken the process even more! hope this helps!
